This is one of the rarest and most incurable diseases in orthopaedics. Its main feature is bowing of the legs from an early age and nonunion, eventually leading to amputation.
Bone healing is very difficult in this disease, but we are seeing better results as techniques are advancing. Now we can consider reconstructive treatment, rather than amputation.
