Leg Length Discrepancy after Surgery
In limb lengthening, accurate measurement of leg length is very important.
X-rays take the shadows of the bone. It does not precisely measure actual bone length. Especially in stature lengthening, leg length should be carefully measured in order to prevent any discrepancy in leg length following surgery.
We solve this by the ‘mini-screw method’ invented by Dr. Donghoon Lee. The rate of leg length discrepancy after surgery at our institute is 0%.
In traditional leg length discrepancy, a length difference over 2-2.5cm is an indication of a need for treatment. However, LLD after lengthening should be viewed differently. Talk to Donghoon Advanced Limb Lengthening Reconstruction Institute if you perceive a difference in your leg lengths following lengthening.
