EOS Safety

EOS delivers a radiation dosage that is 2-3 times less than a general computed radiography X-ray and 20 times less than basic computed tomography (CT) scans. Reducing radiation dosage is particularly beneficial for children. Most children’s hospitals adopt this system.

EOS Utility

• An EOS scan shows the patient’s natural, weight-bearing posture and allows us to see the interaction between the joints and the rest of the musculoskeletal system.
• 3D weight-bearing images of patients in an upright, standing position provides the most accurate view of the spine and lower limbs. Physicians can better evaluate balance and posture and analyze the bones, joints and ligaments from multiple angles.

• EOS is particularly useful in the cases below:
  • Angular deformity (bow legs, knock-knees)
  • Rotational deformity (Malalignment Syndrome)
  • Scoliosis
  • Children
  • Arthritis with bow legs or knock-knees
  • Analyzing rotation angle to find out the cause of recurrent patella dislocation
